Four Ways To Use Cheese In A Dish

Sharing is caring!

Cheese, glorious, cheese. The blessing that is cheese has become a staple within many of the dishes that we can consume on a daily basis. When you think about it, a lot of traditional and popular dishes across the globe have cheese in them.

Whether you make your own vegan cheese sauce to ladle generously onto a dish or you’re looking to explore different ways cheese can be used in and on your food, here are four ways to use cheese in a dish.

1. Toppings for pizza

If you don’t have cheese on your pizza, then you’re doing it wrong. Whether it’s vegan cheese or a dairy option, the perfect topping for a pizza – even if it’s the only one too – is cheese. Cheese gives it that ooey-gooey pull that you want on a pizza as you chomp down and pull away the delicious flavors and toppings you’ve picked.

You can never have enough cheese for your pizza, with some pizzas having an abundance of cheese options that mix together and complement one another perfectly. When you’re topping your pizza with cheese, don’t be stingy, make sure you coat it enough so that you can’t see the sauce on your base.

2 Filing in appetizers

There’s nothing like a cheesy surprise when it comes to filling up the appetizers you serve to your guests over dinner or when you’re out dining with friends or loved ones.

Mozzarella sticks and arancini balls are often two great appetizers to stuff in a bit of cheese for your starter. Who said that cheese can’t be incorporated into all of the dishes you have when going for a three-course?

Mozzarella as mentioned is a great option for a chewy and stretchy cheese pull. There are also more loose and liquid cheese sauces that you can add to appetizers to give that punch of flavor.

3. Sliced onto hamburgers

Whether you’re barbequing out in the backyard or you’re cooking up a storm in the kitchen by making hamburgers from scratch, there’s got to be a bit of cheese on top of that burger and before the bun goes on top.

A good ol’ American slice of cheese that looks plastic, is a great addition to the hamburger. Some restaurants have gone really gourmet with their choice of cheese and so the standard cheddar is not only the only cheese to feature on a burger bun. Blue cheese – aka the smelly one – is a popular one nowadays for fans of burgers.

4. Sprinkled onto pasta dishes

Pasta dishes are a great sauce of protein and when it comes to pasta, you can just about mix any type of meat in with a sauce and have a beautiful tasting dish.

The more crumbly options when it comes to accompanying it on top of pasta dishes are worth opting for. Whether that’s parmesan or creamy feta, you’ve got plenty of choice to add something extra to your dish.

Cheese is a flexible ingredient within your food stash, so make good use of it.
